Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued the latest Official Circular for CBSE Affiliated Schools on the main website of CBSE. All the official information given on that notice is also discussed in this blog post. All the CBSE School Teachers are advised to read this Official Circular for CBSE Affiliated Schools.
All the teachers will get the direct link to the notice issued by the CBSE Board for CBSE-affiliated schools on its official website in this blog post.
This is in continuation of the CBSE Education Board’s earlier Circular No. 07/2024 dated 31 May 2024 vide which it was informed that CBSE-affiliated schools should reorganize the strength of students in each section from Classes 1 to 12 in the next three years to 40 by the academic session 2025-26.

As per clause 4.8 of the CBSE-Affiliation Bye-laws, “The optimum number of students for classes 1 to 12 in each section shall be 40. The availability of one square meter of built-up floor area per student of the CBSE board in the classrooms is an absolute requirement in the school. Subject to this, the details of permitted sections as per the terms of these By-laws (Affiliation Laws) and availability of land and infrastructure are given in Appendix-V.”
It is also worth mentioning that CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) has always aimed to provide its stakeholders with a friendly, convenient, and hassle-free platform to facilitate requests under various categories. The CBSE board will soon launch its sixth version of SARAS (School Affiliation Restructuring Automation System) on the official CBSE Board Website to seek applications under various categories of affiliation for the 2026-27 academic session.
Accordingly, the heads and managers of all schools affiliated with CBSE are advised to regulate and restrict their enrolment from Classes 1 to 12 for academic session 2025-26 as per the instructions issued by the Board. Schools affiliated with CBSE are therefore advised to apply for increasing sections in SARAS 6.0 to regulate their sections for all classes 1 to 12 as per Chapter 3 Appendix V of the Affiliation Bye-laws of the Board 2018 so that they can maintain the maximum number of students up to 40 in each section of Classes 1 to 12 from the academic session 2026-27.
