CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) conducts sports events every year at cluster/zonal and national levels for students of its affiliated CBSE board schools in different age groups for girls and boys.
To promote sports among CWSN (Children with Special Needs) students with Intellectual Developmental Disability (IDD), the CBSE Education Board is conducting CBSE Special Games for CWSN students of CBSE School on a pilot basis for Delhi only for the early years. The following details may be noted in this regard:
Game, Age Groups, and Events
The Special Games will be organized by Central Board of Secondary Education for Athletics for the following age groups and Categories:

Eligibility Criteria for CBSE Special Games
CWSN students studying in CBSE-affiliated schools will be eligible to participate in CBSE Special Games 2024-25 for CWSN (Children with Special Needs) students with Intellectual Developmental Disability (IDD) (students with IQ 70 and below). This year only the students of Sylph Delhi can participate in the CBSE Games 2024-25.
How to Participate in CBSE Special Games
Interested schools who wish to sponsor their CWSN students in these CBSE sports Games should fill in the entries in the following Google form. The entries registration form direct link is given below in this blog post:
No entries in this CBSE Special Games Event will be accepted through email or any other mode. Also, schools affiliated with CBSE must enter the correct details of the participants like name, date of birth, sport, event, etc. as no correction will be entertained after the last date. Each student can participate in this game in a maximum of 2 events in his/her category.
Last Date for Entries: The last date for entries in this Special Game is 12.02.2025. No entry to this CBSE Games will be accepted after the last date.
Age Criteria: For session 2024-25, the age criteria will be as follows:
- 12-15 years: Born between 01.01.2010 and 31.12.2013
- 16-21 years: Born between 01.01.2004 and 31.12.2009
Lunch and Refreshments: The organizing school will have to arrange lunch and refreshments for the participants. Each participant of this event will have to pay Rs 250/- per day to the organizing school for lunch and refreshments.
Rules: All stakeholders who are interested in this Special Games are requested to read the rules of ‘CBSE Special Games for CWSN Students’ (as per Special Olympics Bharat) available on the Official CBSE Sports Portal. The rules of Special Olympics Bharat will be followed in the CBSE Special 2024-25 Games event.
IQ Certificate/Disability Certificate: All participants of Special Games are required to submit a copy of IQ Certificate/Disability Certificate issued by a Government Hospital or Government Institution. Participants of CBSE Games 2024-25 are also required to submit a certified entry on school letterhead, signed and stamped by the school principal/head of the school.
