The Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSE&L), Ministry of Education (MoE) is organizing/conducting a Drawing and Painting Competition to celebrate Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 for students of classes 6 to 8 by promoting cultural diversity, ceremonial traditions, and rituals through creativity.

Eligibility Criteria for Maha Kumbh Competition 2025

Students of classes 6 to 8 from CBSE-affiliated schools (except KVS, and NVS) across the country can voluntarily participate in this Maha Kumbh Drawing Painting Competition 2025.

Themes for the Maha Kumbh Contest 2025

The three main themes for Drawing and Painting Maha Kumbh Contest 2025 are as follows:

Bhavya Maha Kumbh: Capture the spiritual grandeur and vibrant atmosphere of the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 at Prayagraj and the holy confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati.

Divya Maha Kumbh: Showcase the traditions, rituals, and ceremonies related to the Maha Kumbh Mela.

Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat: Describe the cultural diversity and harmony developed through the Maha Kumbh Mela.

Awards and Prizes in each Category [(i) Dawing and (ii) Painting] at All India Level

  • First Prize -INR 15,000/-
  • Second Prize INR 10,000/-
  • Third Prize INR 7,000/-
  • 10 Consolation prizes each comprising a certificate and a gift hamper.

Submission of the Shortlisted Entry by Schools to CBSE

Schools affiliated with CBSE can submit/upload entries till January 30, 2025, using the Maha Kumbh Android phone app available on Google Play Store and can be downloaded through:

The 5 best entries of this Maha Kumbh Contest in each category will be selected from each CBSE region for further selection at the CBSE level.

The ten best entries of the Maha Kumbh Contest will be selected at the CBSE level to participate in the National level competition.

The decision of the Evaluation Committee will be final in this Maha Kumbh Competition and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard.
