How To Calculate JEE Main 2025 Percentile Score
The JEE Main 2025 exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency over multiple days and sessions, with the difficulty level of the exam varying from day to day and session to session. Thus, to ensure equality in assessing the performance of all applicants who appeared in the JEE Main Exam, the exam conducting agency (NTA) introduced the percentile system based on the normalization process. NTA (National Testing Agency) uses the below-mentioned formula to calculate the JEE Main percentile score of an applicant.
Normalization procedure based on PERCENTILE SCORE
NTA (National Testing Agency) may conduct the JEE Main entrance exam on multiple dates, generally in two sessions per day. Candidates will be given different sets of questions in every session of the JEE Main Examination and it is quite possible that despite all efforts to maintain parity between different question papers, the difficulty level of these question papers administered in different sessions may not be the same. Some candidates may solve a relatively difficult set of questions more easily than other sets. Candidates who attempt a comparatively difficult set of JEE Main exam questions are likely to score less than those who attempt an easier set.
To deal with such a situation, a “normalization procedure based on percentage score” will be used to ensure that candidates are neither advantaged nor disadvantaged due to the difficulty level of the exam.
